I do not believe in soulmates.
I know enough about humanity now to know that everyone’s soul needs transformation daily, and it’s no positive thing to declare soul ties with another human being.
I now understand that every person is a work in progress before God. And the soul is the intimate chamber where that work happens.
No other person can ever do that for us.
It’s a false form of intimacy to think that another human can identify with us and know us so well.
The truth is, too much of that, and our relationships look codependent, because we become tied to what is familiar, but God is constantly trying to set us free in Him.
People need space and respect, room to learn and grow, and true love makes room for that.
The best relationships are not threatened by differences, but know that support and strength is found in bringing ourselves to the table because no one person has all the answers.
I’m married now, and I know that my husband and I are one.
We do not need to see each other as soulmates. We know that our souls are designed for Jesus Christ alone, and we don’t try to get into each other’s internal space in that way.
But, we also know that through the union of marriage, we are one in Christ, and that unity in the Holy Spirit is one of the best ways we can share Christ together with our broken world.
So, although we don’t believe in soulmates,
we do believe in True Love who is Jesus Christ
who gave His life for us to grow in freedom, love, and truth, and…
…that kind of unity is powerful.
