Grace and Mercy – The Discerning Daisy Podcast

When I was younger I used to hear that Mercy is when we do not receive what we deserve, () and Grace is when we receive what we don’t deserve (Jesus Christ). This was a precious definition that I have loved through the years. However, I didn’t always see how to apply these two concepts in practice beyond having a thankful heart. But, I finally got a revelation that helped me to better understand these two incredible gifts God has given us.

Jesus died on the Cross for each of us to become part of His body. Therefore, it only makes sense that the authentic Church today would still be built by Christ alone through His Holy Spirit alone, just as it happened in the Book of Acts.

Then, why do people today focus on extra-biblical concepts that highlight man’s agendas, ideologies, and denominational doctrines, rather than just focusing on what the Bible says?

Well, this week, we will be talking about membership in the Church. The leading question on the table is: Do we have to become members of a local church in order to be Christians? If not, why do so many people see membership in the local church as a sign that someone is a Christian?
